Salerno is one of the best cities where you can stay if you want to visit the Amalfitana Coast and the island of Capri. You can get to Salerno by high speed or regional train from Rome, Naples, Florence or Venice.

 

How to get to Capri from Salerno by boat – public ferry

You can reach Capri by boat from the end of March to the end of October (summer), there are maritime connections with ferries from Salerno to Capri with landings in the cities of Amalfi, Positano, Maiori and others. The service, through ferries and hydrofoils, is provided by the companies Travelmar, GESCAB, NLG. Price from Sorrento to Capri is 19,30 euro

Schedules and prices Ferries from Salerno to Capri

From the port of Salerno of Molo Manfredi to Capri

From SALERNO (MANFREDI MOLO) → CAPRI [JET] Time: 7:50 – 8:40 until 10/31. Duration: 130 min. One-way price: € 22.50
From CAPRI → SALERNO (MANFREDI MOLO) [JET] Time: 4:25 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. until 31/10 Duration: 145 min. One-way price: € 22.50

NOTE: At the indicated rate, € 2.50 must be added as arrival tax to Capri. Routes available from April.

From the Piazza della Concordia dock you can take the ferries that go ad Amalfi, Positano, Maiori.

Can I travel by car from Salerno to Capri?

On ferries from Salerno to Capri, during the summer, it is not possible to board cars and motor vehicles. So you should leave the car in a private parking lot or in the areas with blue or white lines of the city of Salerno. There are several areas near the port where to park just in front of the port.

Ferry rates

Some companies offer discounts for children under 12, while children up to 3 years travel for free. Seniors over 12 and adults pay full rate.

Can I get luggage on the ferry?

Luggage can be carried on ferries, but there is an additional charge of approximately 2 euros for each piece of luggage. They can ask when buying the ticket.

Should I buy in advance?

If you travel in the months of July and August or on weekends, parties such as May 1 or April 25, it is essential to have tickets to avoid queues and guarantee the best place to enjoy the scenery. I recommend buying online in advance.

What are the ports of embarkation and where are they?

In Salerno there are two ports of embarkation: the Molo Manfredi and the Piazza della Concordia. Piazza della Concordia is 300 meters from the train station, while Manfredi Pier is about 2 km from the station.

In Capri the port of embarkation is located in Marina Grande. From there you can also take a private tour to take the turn of the island of Capri. You can buy it here.
